Objectives

  • To investigate and develop the ways materials and chemical processes interact with people and the environment.
  • To carry out a range of practical investigations and use this and other information to explore chemical behaviour.
  • To understand important concepts in Chemistry and major patterns of chemical behaviour.

  • Atomic structure, bonding and related properties.
  • Chemical reactivity.
  • Quantitative analysis.
  • Redox Chemistry.

Recommended Prior Learning

Must have gained Achieved or more in Ionically it matters assessment, plus 2 other assessments (Under the microscope, Science Fair and/or Everyone has potential). Total of 3 out of 4 assessments passed.
