Recommended Prior Learning
14 credits in NCEA Level 2 History with atleast 4 credits from the History External Assessment. Students will need the same literacy requirements as for Year 13 English.
NCEA Level 2 History is preferred and recommended although History can be taken for the first time at Year 13 level providing the student has excellent English results at Level 2 and is prepared to work hard.

Associated Costs: $350.00 Bay of Islands overnight trip for the Māori/Pakeha race relations research assessment.

In History we build student's ability to communicate, investigate, problem solve, think critically, write formal essays, develop arguments, analyse sources of information and see different perspectives on issues.
