Objectives

This course is for students who have studied little or no German at Intermediate school.

The students learn to communicate in German about themselves, family, friends, pets and personal likes and dislikes. They also learn numbers, times and dates. Cultural information about Germany and German speaking countries is included in the course. There is a strong focus on communication and intercultural competence.

Learning basic introductions.
Cognates, punctuation, greetings, farewells, negation, adjectives of personal character, numbers, haben and sein expressions, alphabet, articles.

Term 2
My People.
Talking about important people in our lives, family, friends, pets, colours, ordinal numbers.
