Objectives

This course caters for students who have studied little or no Mandarin at Intermediate school.

The students learn to:

Receive and respond to personal information and questions (Listening).
Respond to questions and exchange personal information (Speaking).
Comprehend familiar text in Chinese characters (Reading).
Express personal information by producing familiar text in Chinese characters (Writing).

Students will gain knowledge of Chinese culture and Chinese languages which helps them to interact with others and develop intercultural competence.

It's all about me	Greetings in normal and polite ways. Introduce self and others. Talking about oneself.
Family and Connections	Talking about family members and friends. Talking about pets. Talking about colours. Expressing age and birthday.
