Content
The course covers academic and communicative English on a variety of topics and text over the language skills of listening, speaking, reading, writing, grammar*, vocabulary, and information literacy skills. A regular homework programme is followed.
*Grammar conventions are taught throughout the course and linked to assessment requirements.

Writing | Learn writing skills and practise formal and informal writing. |
Reading | Read a range of texts independently and write a response supported by evidence. |
Reading for Literacy | Read to understand and decode ideas and information for literacy. |
Writing for Literacy | Write accurately and for different purposes and audiences for literacy. |
Students do:
Two Reading responses.
One extended text essay as an exam at the end of the year.
One piece of formal writing and preparation for the Reading and Writing CAAs.
